Our Facility
On 29th August 2025, KLIFO received formal approval of our new CTS packaging and distribution facility from the Danish Medicines Agency. Our new purpose-built facility further enhances KLIFO’s ability to support large global trials by increasing our capacity, streamlining the flow of product through operations from receipt to final accountability, minimizing risk to our clients’ products and widening KLIFO’s scope of services.
Our Facility
- Our new facility combines capacity with process efficiency and security, while helping minimize our environmental impact.
- Located close to Copenhagen International Airport to support global distributio
- 6500 sq m (65,000 sq ft) facility
- Optimized material flow with end-end maintenance of cold chain
- More than trebles current storage capacity across all temperatures
| Storage Conditions | Pallet spaces | Shelves |
| Controlled Room Temperature (CRT) 15-25oC | 1700 | 1500 |
| Refrigerated 2-8oC | 490 | 1160 |
| Frozen -20oC | 12 | 225 |
| Ultra frozen -80oC | N/A | 96 |
- 10 x temperature-controlled packaging rooms for primary and secondary packaging, including purpose-built packaging rooms for processing products at CRT, refrigerated and frozen temperatures.
- Reduced light capabilities in packaging rooms support processing of light sensitive products.
- Controlled drug storage and processing.
- Separate returns warehouse.
- Secure, controlled access label printing and documentation storage
- Full back-up power supply.
Primary Packaging
- Class D room (20 air changes/hr)
- Separate lobby for material, and personnel access and changing; interlocked doors minimize risk of cross contamination
- Reduced light capabilities
Secondary Packaging (CRT)
- Six packaging rooms
- 5-6 air changes/hr
- Temperature controlled, humidity monitored
- Energy saving design
- Reduced light capabilities in some rooms
- Large rooms to accommodate large scale, complex packaging operations
Secondary Packaging (Refrigerated)
- Two packaging rooms
- Halogen-free, non-flammable refrigerants minimize environmental impact while reducing risk to client products
- Packaging rooms directly connected to refrigerated warehouse to minimize risk of temperature excursions during product transfer
- Sliding walls allows two rooms to be combined into a single large room for large volume and complex packaging operations.

Secondary Packaging (Frozen-20oC)
- One packaging room
- Direct access to our -20oC warehouse allows materials to be transferred from storage to packaging and back again without risk of temperature excursions.
- Strict protocols safeguard staff wellbeing while working in the freezer.

Controlled Room Temperature (15-25oC) Warehouse
- 1700 pallets and 1500 shelves capacity
- Barcoded shelf locations (integrated with KLIFO’s WMS) support efficient material retrieval
- Separate returns warehouse
- Controlled/Scheduled drug vault
Refrigerated Storage
- 4 large capacity cold rooms providing a total of 490 pallets and 1190 shelve of storage
- Separate rooms allows for redundant capacity, and spreading of risk by splitting storage of high value product if required
- Cold room located by distribution dock allows for shipment preparation without breaking the cold chain
- Widened refrigerator doors accommodate pallet-sized shippers, allowing shipments to be prepared in the refrigerator, helping maintain the cold chain even for bulk product shipments.
- Halogen free, non-flammable refrigerants.
- Barcoded shelving supports efficient material retrieval.

Frozen (-20oC) and Ultra Frozen (-80oC) storage
- -20oC warehouse with 12 pallet and 225 shelf storage locations
- 24 x -80oC upright freezers, offering 96 shelves for product storage
- Redundant capacity in case of equipment failure
- Freezers are connected to our Building Management System, so have the same 24/7/365 monitoring as all areas of our facility
- Barcoded shelving supports efficient material retrieval

Sustainability
- Facility-within-a-facility design insulates our packaging rooms from extremes of outside temperatures, reducing energy consumption required to maintain room temperature.
- Narrow aisle design and guided forklifts maximises efficiency of space utilization, reducing power consumption required to maintain temperature.
- CO2 detectors in rooms allow power consumption in room (e.g. lighting, air changes/hr) to be automatically adjusted based on activity in each room.
- Green refrigerants used to maintain temperature throughout the facility.
- Insulation in warehouse roof prevents loss of heat to the environment, reducing energy consumption.
